Taco Pie

This is an all time favorite in my family, so simple to make and is way better than taco's. Give this one a try. Your family will love it. Perfect for a family party serve with tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole, black beans, margaritas and have your own Fiesta!!!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup milk
1 package Taco Bell seasoning mix
2 1/2 cups mashed potato flakes (or left over mashed potatoes-omit butter & milk)
1 pound ground beef or Turkey
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup salsa
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 medium tomato, diced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Sour cream, optional

Directions:

1.Preheat oven 350F.
2.In a medium sauce pan, melt butter & Add milk, 2 Tbs taco seasoning, mixing well.
3.Remove from heat, add potato flakes, mixing until incorporated.
4.Press mixture into the bottom of a regular pie plate, then Bake the "crust" for 7-10 minutes until it just barley turns a light golden brown. In the meantime, cook beef & onions in a skillet until beef is browned and cooked through. Drain. Add Salsa & remaining taco seasoning. Cook until bubbly.
5.Pour into crust. Bake for 15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
6.Let cool for 5 minutes. Top with cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, black olives, jalapeno slices, etc
