Potatoes Au Gratin



This is by far the best Potatoes Au Gratin you will ever make. This goes perfect with steak, chicken, pork as a side dish. The recipe is creamy, cheesy and delicious. I am sure after you make this once, it will be on your dinner table once a week. This is a recipe from the Pioneer Woman, so you know it is going to be good..


Ingredients:

4 whole russet potatoes, scrubbed clean
2 Tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
2 Tablespoons Flour
4 garlic cloves, minced finely
1 teaspoon salt
fresh ground pepper
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Spread softened butter all over baking dish
3. Slice potatoes and cut into fourths (chunks)
4. In a large separate bowl whisk together the heavy cream, milk, flour, garlic, salt and pepper
5. Place 1/3 of the potatoes on the bottom of the baking dish, pour 1/3 of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then repeat 2 more times ending with the cream mixture.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, remove foil and bake another 20 minutes, or until potatoes are golden brown and bubbly
7. Add the cheddar cheese and bake for another 3-5 minutes, until cheese is brown and bubbly
