These delicious greek tacos are healthy starting with ground turkey with greek spices, then topped with Tzatziki and healthy toppings that everyone will love. These are so easy to make, full of flavor and again best part they healthy for you. Perfect meal that can be on your table in less than 30 minutes.
I love greek food, if I had a choice I would eat it everyday. The food is healthy, always fresh ingredients, and have so much flavor. After I saw this recipe I knew it was the perfect weeknight meal that my entire family would eat, and I was correct everything was gone. I had made some white basmati rice on the side and added some olive oil and fresh dill on the top. Perfect meal for me. I will be making this time and time again, it is a keeper.
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped red onion
- 20 oz package ground turkey
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tablespoon fresh minced garlic
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried ground coriander
- 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- Flour tortillas, tzatziki (homemade, recipe below, or store bought. chopped romaine lettuce, crumbled feta cheese, diced Roma tomatoes take seeds out if desired, peeled and diced cucumbers, chopped thinly red onion, fresh cilantro

- 1. In a large non stick skillet heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add in red onion and saute for a few minutes until soft then add turkey, season with salt and pepper to taste and saute breaking up and stirring until nearly cooked through. Then add garlic and continue to cook until turkey is no longer pink. Stir in tomato sauce, chicken broth, oregano, thyme and coriander. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 2.Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer and cook uncovered, stirring occasionally until sauce has reduced, about 6 - 8 minutes. Stir in lemon juice. Serve warm over tortillas with toppings
For the home made tzatziki: 1 small cucumber, peeled, seeded and chopped into chunks 1 tsp salt, plus more to taste 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 clove garlic, minced 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley 1 Tbsp chopped fresh dill
Directions: Place diced cucumber in a mesh strainer or colander and sprinkle with salt, toss to evenly coat then allow to rest 20 minutes at room temperature. Rinse cucumbers and place over several layers of paper towels. Squeeze the liquid from cucumbers Place cucumbers in food processor and pulse to chop fine. Dab cucumbers with a paper towel to soak up more moisture, then add in Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, parsley, and dill and season with salt to taste. Plus to blend then serve, store in fridge.
